Who Stole My Joy: Joy In Serving

Who Stole My Joy: Joy In Serving

Who stole my joy?

Week one: joy in the normal

Stop thinking, Take a deep breath, Appreciate him

Week two: joy in the pain

See the unseen. What are you doing in the middle of this?

Joy is a focus before it is a feeling

There are moments of deep joy in God working through you

I have observed that when any of us embarks on the pursuit of happiness for ourselves, it eludes us. Often I’ve asked myself “why.” It must be because happiness comes to us only as a by-product. When we become absorbed in something demanding and worthwhile above and beyond ourselves, happiness seems to be there as a by-product of the self-giving. That should not be a startling truth, yet I’m surprised at how few people understand and accept it. Catherine Marshall

There is a deep joy being used by JesusWk

Holy Spirit joy of serving

Luke 10:17-19 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.” He replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

Luke 10:20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than this, to hear of my children walking in the truth.

Luke 10:21 At that time Jesus, full of joy through the Holy Spirit, said, “I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.”

Luke 15:3-7 Then Jesus told them this parable: “Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says, ‘Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.’ I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.

Seeing the eternal, JOY of God moving. This continues in heaven!!

Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up

Sometimes the moments only come after layers of ordinary

Who are you doing this for?

Joy is a focus before it’s a feeling

Hebrews 6:10 God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.

Joy in serving your Savior
