A promise reaches into the future and makes something secure

God promises to be attentive to every prayer

God promises to be Father to anyone who asks

God promises faithful, love for his children

God promises provision as we are generous

God promises strength/power

Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Colossians 1:28-29 We proclaim Him, admonishing every person and teaching every person with all wisdom, so that we may present every person complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

Isaiah 40:31 Yet those who wait for the Lord Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Wait = Qavah To bind together, To intertwine, To anticipate

Admit weakness

You’ve never even given God a chance to come to you in your vulnerabilities in your pain in our suffering when we are stripped of control and we are no longer the captain of our ship, when we are humans broken weak desperate contingent, in need, like most of the rest of the world who will tell you the stories of God’s power in their lives. Admit your weakness

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God

Ask for his power/strength

Galatians 2:20 My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.

Take a step in the right direction

2 Cor. 5:7 For we walk by faith, not by sight

Admit weakness/ Ask for strength/ Take a step

Galatians 5:16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh

Ps. 28:7 The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.
