Provision and Generosity | Financial Peace Part 4

Provision and Generosity | Financial Peace Part 4

There is no win in comparison

Work is not a four letter word

Self-control is Christ-Control

Deuteronomy 8:18 But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth

God does everything with excellence

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Ephesians 5:1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children

Generosity Realizing that all I have belongs to God and using it for His purposes.

Why live a life of generosity?

We are asked to imitate God’s generosity

1 Chronicles 29:14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

Why live a life of generosity?

We experience God’s supernatural provision

2 Corinthians 9:8, 10, 14-15 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work… Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to GodAnd in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you.  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.

Why live a life of generosity?

It’s fun

Give as you go

Percentage giving to your place of worship

Malachi 3:8-11 Will a mere mortal rob God? Yet you rob me. “But you ask, ‘How are we robbing you?’ “In tithes and offerings. You are under a curse—your whole nation—because you are robbing me. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty.

Give sacrificially

Mark 12:42-44 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a few cents. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

What I spent is Lost, What I possessed is left to others, What I gave remains.

2 Corinthians 8:7 But since you excel in everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you — see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

God wants your heart first and foremost

Live Generously
