I am holding the Words of God in my hand

God’s Grand Story

Creation/ Fall/ Redemption/ Restoration

Reason behind the Story?

To intimately know God and enjoy him forever!

How to read the Bible?

Myth 1 The Bible can say anything you want it to say

Myth 2 That’s just your own interpretation

There is a right way to interpret the Bible

2 Tim. 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Read the Bible like a normal set of books

Read it literally

“Sensus Literalis”

Read the Bible in its context

Books have a reason

Read the Bible like a Christian

If you are a Christian you have to believe in Death and Resurrection of Jesus

Romans 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Where do we hear about the death and resurrection of Jesus? Bible!

Therefore… If you are a Christian you should believe the ______!

Believe the miracles

Read it as written by one author – God

“Sola Scriptura”

1 John 4:8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

1 Cor. 14:34 Women should be silent during the church meetings. It is not proper for them to speak… If they have any questions, they should ask their husbands at home.

1 Cor. 11:5 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered

Let the Bible shape your values, don’t bring your values to the Bible

Luke 9:22-24 Then Jesus said, “The Son of Man must suffer many things. He will be rejected by the older Jewish leaders, the leading priests, and teachers of the law. And he will be killed. But after three days he will be raised from death.”

The Bible was written to normal people

On essentials the Bible is 100% clear
