Foretold – Part 4

It is difficult to make predictions of any kind, let alone one person’s life hundreds of years in the future.

Luke 24:26-28 Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.

1 Peter 1:10-12 The prophets knew they were writing about something in the future. This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward. They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you.

There is a God his name is Jesus

There will be a man who will crush evil will be Jewish and every nation blessed by him. He will be a descendant of King David and be born in Bethlehem. He will be born of a virgin and be God in the flesh. This person will be silent at his trial, cursed through dying by crucifixion. His clothes will be gambled over as he dies. He will be buried in a rich man’s tomb then rise again creating many children.

Zech. 6:12 Then he will receive royal honor and will rule as king from his throne. He will also serve as priest from his throne, and there will be perfect harmony between his two roles.

Zech. 9:9 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

Isaiah 42:1,3,6-9 “Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him…  A bruised reed he will not break and a smoldering wick he will not snuff out. “I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles, to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness. New things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.”

Psalm 34:18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

There is one God and his name is Jesus
