Christmas Eve: God With Us

Christmas Eve: God With Us

Christmas Eve

We need traditions

Traditions ground us, tell us we are safe for a moment, settle our hearts

Only constant is change

John 1:14 And the Word (God) became flesh, and dwelt (tabernacled) among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

God tented amongst us – Grace Truth

Isaiah 7: 14 Therefore the Lord himself will give youa sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel

God with us

Matt. 1:20-23 An angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God is with us”).

God with us

Long lay the world in sin and error pining, ‘Til He appears and the soul felt its worth, A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn, Fall on your knees; O hear the Angel voices!

God can be with you
