Blessed Are…
John 1:12 But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.
Poor in Spirit (I can’t/ you can) Mourn over my spiritual poverty (forgive me)
Meek (serving others) Wanting more God (growing)
Mercy
Matt. 5:7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
God leads with Mercy
God desires Mercy
God is slow to anger and always responds to the humble
1 Kings 21:25 There was never anyone like Ahab, who sold himself to do evil in the eyes of the Lord, urged on by Jezebel his wife. He behaved in the vilest manner by going after idols, like the Amorites the Lord drove out before Israel.
1 Kings 21:28-29 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah the Tishbite: “Have you noticed how Ahab has humbled himself before me Because he has humbled himself, I will not bring this disaster in his day.”
Let mercy be your leading thought
Remember all that you have been forgiven
Let Mercy lead in every relationship
And God’s ongoing mercy will follow you the rest of your life
Pure in heart
Matt. 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Ps. 24:3-4 Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god.
A pure will, loves God with the whole heart and soul and mind. It is “fanatical”—the greatest insult the modern mind can conceive, and the greatest compliment God can receive. It is the greatest compliment a lover can give: “I love you with my whole heart and soul. My love is not divided. You have no rival.” – Peter Kreeft, Back to Virtue
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Let God be your heart’s focus
And you will see God everywhere
Let Mercy lead in every relationship
And God’s ongoing mercy will follow you the rest of your life
Let God be your heart’s focus
And you will see God everywhere
