Blessed Are – Part 2

Blessed are those who know they can’t but He can
They trust in God and have the help of their King

Blessed are those who are broken over their brokenness
God will pick them up and put them back together

Blessed are the Meek

Matt. 5:5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

In general, the Greeks considered meekness a vice, because it failed to distinguish a meek person from being a servant/slave.

Blessed are those who keep their eyes of serving others in humility
They will gain a world of lasting influence and peace

Blessed are those who desire God

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled (Matt. 5:6)

The evidence of Jesus Christ in a person’s life is not that they are righteous, but that they have an appetite for it. – Charles Price

1 Cor. 1:30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Ps. 63:1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

The satisfaction is with Jesus, himself who has become our righteousness D.A. Carson

John 17:3 Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent

Let yourself feel the discontent of wanting more of God

And your soul will continually be satisfied
