Aventis means to prepare for the coming of an important person 

John 5:39-40 You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.

God prepared human history for Christmas

Peace 

Shalom – Complete or whole 

Luke 2:13-14 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

Isaiah 66:2 These are the ones I look on with favor: those who are humble and contrite in spirit, and who tremble at my word

Romans 5:1 Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Trusting God is an exchange 

1 Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Trusting is not trusting in the outcome trusting in the person

Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts

What do you need to leave at the altar to prepare your heart for Christmas?

Peace is found in in the daily decision to trust Jesus 

Number 6:22-26 The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.
