#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
You can show your generosity in a variety of ways during Giving Tuesday—everyone has something to give and every act of generosity counts!
- Give your time and talent
We are always looking for volunteers! Consider helping out on Sunday mornings with the production teams (lights, sound, broadcasting) or with the set-up and tear-down teams. If you have a heart for pointing kids, youth or young adults toward Jesus, consider joining one of our ministries for the next generation! If you’re artistic or love the arts, you may be able to contribute on our social media team or join the creative team!
- Give your voice
Petition God for those around you who need his healing, comfort, strength, or wisdom. Pray for those on the way to God, that they would come to know the love of the Father.
- Give money
Your Giving Tuesday donations in 2022 will move us toward being able to complete our building project! GIVE HERE or send an e-transfer to gifts@churchontherock.ca with a note including your name and that your gift is for Giving Tuesday!
- Give goods
Consider giving a bit early by preparing a shoebox or two for Operation Christmas Child! For ideas on what to pack, check out these suggestions. If you are unable to put together a physical shoebox, you can pack one online at www.PackABox.ca!Shoeboxes can be dropped off at the first or second services on Sunday Nov 13 & 20 OR delivered directly to the COTR building (2149 Upper James) at the following dates & times:
Mon Nov 14 @ 10am-1pm
Wed Nov 16 @ 7pm-9pm
Thu Nov 17 @ 1pm-3pm
Sat Nov 19 @ 12pm-3:30pm
Sun Nov 20 @ 1:30pm-4pmIf you prefer to give after Nov 20, you can donate much-needed holiday items to Mission Services in Hamilton (see their current list of needs)
- Give gratitude and kindness
Take some time to be intentionally kind to those in your circle of influence. Write a thank-you note to a co-worker; prepare and deliver a meal for a friend; offer to babysit for someone with young kids or ask God how he wants you to be kind and to whom!
