Coronavirus Response

United at Heart, Even Apart

The COTR Staff, Finance and Vision Teams are continuing to pray and work through our COVID-19 Ministry Plan. Our desire in this is to be a responsible community member with respect to social distancing while at the same time continuing to be a church family that is there for each other and the larger community as well. Thank you for your gracious support as we work through this new reality. Here is a summary of our plan going forward…

DECEMBER 2020 UPDATE
For the duration of time in which Hamilton is designated as a “Lockdown zone and/or while there is a provincewide shutdown in effect in Ontario, we we will not be hosting in-person services.

Sunday Mornings:

Along with our limited in-person service, we will continue to live-stream our Sunday morning services at 10:45 am each week via our COTR  Facebook Group. You do not need a Facebook account to view the live videos.

Children and Youth:

Under restrictions for COVID-19, we are currently offering livestreamed and in-person Sunday kids programming. Sign up is required for in-person services. We also offer a Facebook community for parents available here.  Kids Adventure Club is on hold.

For our Junior High and Highschool students, we are currently offering small group closed cohorts that will form that basis of our youth ministry this fall. For more information and/or to sign-up, please check out the Church on the Rock Junior High Facebook page and Church on the Rock IGNITE Facebook.

Be sure to sign up for the e-update and join our Facebook Group for updates on plans for summer ministry opportunities!

Small Groups:

Our current small group model for this semester is centered around the formation of “Tiny Groups” that will run for 10 weeks (Oct. 4 – Dec. 13, 2020). For more information or to register your Tiny Group, click HERE.

Care Ministry:

Our Care Ministry Team will continue to be of service to people especially during this challenging time. If you are interested in being involved in this ministry and/or are aware of special needs (especially within our church family) please contact our Care Director, Jon Strand.

Giving:

Thank you for your faithful giving during this unsettled time! With limited in-person services over the next several weeks we would be thankful to receive your offering via mail, e-transfer (gifts@churchontherock.ca—no password required), Canada Helps as well as pre-authorized giving. Please contact Tina Caissie for assistance with any of these giving streams.

As we walk together as a church family through this uncertain time, let us join each other in being a source of light and peace to those whose path we cross. May we be generous to those in need and have a word of hope ready for those who are afraid or discouraged.
